Would have liked to see Heisey today

I would have too. My guess is until the team wins a couple games in a row Dusty is going to run this same 8 out there. I'd also like to see Janish play when Leake pitches. Has better range a better arm and Cabrera has been exposed a little defensively this last week or so. Seems like he has a ball bounce of him or just outta reach every game now. Not to mention his 3 baserunning errors in the last week.

texasdave
06-05-2010, 06:44 PM
This is a better team with Janish in the lineup in my estimation. Dusty Baker is doghousing Paul Janish. That seems pretty obvious.

Janish and Heisey and Miller will all be in the Sunday Special lineup, I suppose.

Louisville won their second game of the NCAA Tourney earlier, so I'm a happy guy. Hopefully the Reds follow suit.

Leake needs to be a stopper tonight. If he wants to win guy might have to pitch 7 solid innings and give it to rhodes and cordero.

Phillips has been hitting in a lot less double plays this year but it seems that trend is ending.

I'm watching the game on mlb.tv with the Nationals feed. Last night Rob Dibble did the color commentary and was AWFUL. The guy they have working tonight is a lot better.

GIDP
06-05-2010, 07:15 PM
I love Brandon Phillips so much as a top of the order hitter. He has such an improved swing and plate approach and his speed is great in front of Votto.

Votto hits a single, Phillips scores from 1st.

Knightro28
06-05-2010, 07:17 PM
How so?

He was just chit chatting, spent most of the game complaining about a bad call in Houston and the Desmond call, whining about the umpires. Offered minimal insight.

As much as people bash Brantley and Welsh, they know what they are talking about and complement the play-by-play man nicely.

If he stays hitting like he has been and just spraying hits and not swinging wildly he will certainly be worth it. Gold Glove D and a .800 to .875 OPS from 2nd base? Id take that for 11 million and not complain a lot.

That last strike was a no-doubter. The sinker on the corner earlier in the AB was the pitch that Atilano got called a strike but Leake somehow got called a ball. Funnily enough Atilano threw an identical sinker later in the AB, same location, for a ball (I think West was making up for some unfair calls last inning).
