Alonso had a really bad game in LF a while back. He hasn't played there since. But when Dorn and Francisco get back, who knows.

Francisco will DH tomorrow. Dorn's return is still a week or so away.

Jerry Gil got his first save in Carolina's 5-1 victory. He faced five batters. One singled, and he struck out the other four.

We managed to recover enough from the Lynchburg excursion last night to get out today to see the 'home team'. Cochran finally got his long awaited third win that he deserved to get well before now but the bullpen has failed the poor guy several times before. Daryl Harang has got to be on a string with this organization. He hadn't pitched in a week or so but he walked three of the five batters he faced in the eighth inning. To his credit, he did get Cochran out of the seventh in a sticky situation by getting the Stars to hit into a DP. Jerry Gil, who has been less than stellar, did come in and induce a DP as well and also finished the ninth for Cochran. Cochran's dad was in attendance today which was pretty cool. It was his birthday and he threw out the first pitch.

Matt Fairel up tomorrow for a noon start.

He just keeps on dominating. He's now got a 1.74 ERA, 4 BB/19 K, and 3.00 GO/FO ratio in 10.1 innings with Lynchburg. I'd promote him to Carolina.

Dayton SS DiDi Gregorius went 2-for-4 with a home run (#4), walk, and 3 RBI today and is now hitting .286/.337/.416 - .753 OPS as a 20-year old in Low-A. Not bad.

I was hoping we would get to see him pitch last night but it didn't happen. Carolina is in need of a reliable closer. Actually, Carolina is in need of a lot right now.

Dayton squandered a 7-0 lead, but Cameron Satterwhite, the Moeller kid, won it with a HR in the top of the ninth. Satterwhite, moved to 3rd in the order, is batting .375. Chase Ware got the save with a hitless bottom of the ninth, 2 K's. His ERA is 1.39 and his WHIP is under 1.00.

Love to see it! Thanks for the update mace! Let's hope Cameron can keep on raking and make himself a prospect in this organization.

Any one have word on his defense? He was a great defender in high school, but obviously it is a much higher level in A Ball. Thanks.

I'd keep moving Chase Ware and Donnie Joseph up until they meet some resistance. They're both obviously too good for their levels.

He hasn't been in High A long at all. I'm sure he'll be moved up real soon since he has shown that he is handling High A just fine.
