This guy is just terrible.
Daryl needs to be released.
Aaron needs to go to the pen, but that's for another forum.

Teams do this all the time. Hell, when Aaron Boone was playing 3B for the Reds, they signed Matt Boone to a contract even though he only saw action at Dayton. I'm not really sure why teams do this though. It's not like Major League players can see their brothers anymore than usual if their playing for some low level affiliate.

The Carolina bullpen as a whole has been horrible.
Look at the numbers...
Gil - 4.63 ERA / 35 Inn / 35 BB's / 25 K's / 1.89 WHIP
Medina - 3.53 ERA / 35.2 Inn / 30 BB's / 17 K's / 1.82 WHIP
Valiquette - 3.99 ERA / 1.70 WHIP
Smith - 5.08 ERA / 1.62 WHIP
Harang - 8.91 ERA / 33.1 Inn / 45 Hits / 16 BB's / 12 K's as a 27 year old in A+ and AA...
Watson - 14.54 ERA / 8.2 Inn / 9 BB's / 9 K's / .425 BAA / 3.00 WHIP
Baez just had a major blow up in his first appearance in Carolina...
Tabor / Horst / Krebs have all done well but are all LH's...
Smith is in the Majors now and Valiquette is in AAA... Harang, Medina and Gil probably need demoted to fill out the A+ roster while Joseph, Christiani and Freeman who is a RH with freakishly good control need moved up. When Smith gets sent back down to Carolina then Baez can be released as well.
Between now and August 1 there is going to be a whole lotta movement between the pitchers at the top 3 levels...
Daryl Harang was released today
He was given the option to go down to Lynchburg and refused
