Every once in a while, there is a name that I just don't remember or recognize. Stan Palys is one of them.

Every once in a while, there is a name that I just don't remember or recognize. Stan Palys is one of them.

Same here. I didn't recognize that name when it first popped up, either.

LF was a revolving door for the Reds in 1955. Jim Greengrass was traded to the Phillies at the end of April for catcher Smoky Burgess. (Palys was part of that deal.) Ray Jablonski, Chuck Harmon, and Bob Thurman were also among those who saw action in LF that season.

1955 was the only season in his short career in which Palys had more than 60 plate appearances, so that's why we probably never heard of him.
