In Game 2, the Reds scored twice in the bottom of the ninth inning to get the come-from-behind win. Frank Robinson led off the inning with a game-tying home run, then after a fly out by Deron Johnson, the Reds got an infield single by Johnny Edwards, a walk to Tony Perez, and another infield single by Leo Cardenas to load the bases. Pinch hitter Gordy Coleman then singled to RF to score Edwards with the winning run. Sammy Ellis, who started and lost the opener of the twinbill, faced one batter in the top of the ninth and picked up the win in relief.
