Baseball is a very funny game.

Gene Oliver was mostly a mediocre ballplayer, RH hitting C/1B, and occasional LF, playing 10 years for the Cards and Braves, and posted a career .246/.315/.427

But against Sandy Koufax, greatest LH pitcher of his generation, he was pure gold.

Oliver posted a .392/.426/.647 line against Sandy, with 4 home runs in 51 at bats. Only Bill Virdon posted a better BA against Koufax. But for the record, Hammerin Henry Aaron just wore Koufax out. Aaron posted a .362/.431/.647/1.077 line, with 7 HR, 16 RBI and more walks than strikeouts.

You might think Koufax struggled with the Braves, but he posted a 16-11 mark with a 3.29 ERA for his career. Only one NL team finished with a winning record against Koufax. Can you guess that team? :D
