Just prior to Fairel hitting the home run, Patrick Kinas, the Mudcats radio guy was going on about how Fairel took his hitting responsibilties very seriously. Next thing you know, gone. Really sweet.

He just needs more playing time. He plays better when he plays a lot.

Lynchburg wins 5-3. Four scoreless innings of relief from Chase Ware (recently promoted), Justin Freeman (who has pitched a heckuva lot better lately) and of course Donnie Joseph (the bum lucked into the save but could only strike out one stinkin' guy).

The AZL Reds are facing Michael Ynoa, who if you may recall nearly signed with the Reds two years ago. The Reds reportedly offered him $5M to sign but he decided to sign with the A's.

Juan Silva drew a one out walk and scored on a Junior Arias 2-run HR (#1). I'm telling ya folks, keep an eye out for Arias. He's going to be a good player, IMO. Silva too.

I thought if they would start Felix Perez in the DSL there is a chance Mathews would start in Billings.

Couple of huge nights for two 2008 International signees:

Yorman Rodriguez went 4-for-5 with a stolen base in Billings 10-9 loss...

Junior Arias is 4-for-4 with a triple, HR (#1), 2 RBI, and 2 stolen bases.

Juan Silva is 0-for-2 with two walks and a SB.

Yorman ended up 4 for 5, and further down the lineup, Jonathan Kaskow, a switch-hitting first baseman drafted in the 41st round out of Stanford, went 4 for 4 with a HR. Billings lost 10-9.

Meanwhile, in Arizona, Junior Arias is also 4 for 4 with a HR. Daryl Thompson gave up three runs in five innings and fanned nine.

Edit: Dang, simultaneous. Well, almost.

The pen would look a lot different with Bray, Chapman, Rhodes, and Masset (pitching like 09)....if we only had a closer that didn't make it interesting every single night.

What do you think for Yorman if he keeps killing Billings do the Reds move him up to Dayton this year???? He is young I know but he is repeating the level, he came up part way last year, same this year give him 1/2 a year in Dayton?

We could see him in Cincy right around when he's 20.

I was waiting to see how long it would take until the first person posted "Yorman to Dayton." If Yorman hits .260-.270 in Billings this season, fans should be thrilled. Most people I talk to have their doubts that he can do that. He is a young kid with maturity questions. Lets wait to see how he handles his first slump and wait to see what happens once the word gets around the league of how you pitch to him. The key measuring stick for a hitter in the low minors is that once the opposing pitching coaches in your league figure out what to throw you to get you out, well, if you are still hitting after that, then you have accomplished something.

That's not a 260 or 270 average....He was around 300 at Billings last year before he wore down. I think Dayton is not out of the question.

Yorman needs some more time in Billings. Maybe give him a late season promotion to Dayton if he's still crushing the ball in August.

So bring him up in August and let him start there next year??? He is really ahead of the curve age wise.

It's also a nice debate about when to move him up...Would rather have this than the he sucks argument...
