From Rotoworld via The Enquirer w/ Rotoworld comments:

Throwing for the first time in two weeks, Homer Bailey (shoulder) completed two sets of 15 pitches off of flat ground today.

"The set was a little awkward," he said. "The second set was much better. It was a night and day difference." Bailey is at least four weeks away from rejoining the Reds.

Dickerson to be out for quite a while, too....

Per Rotoworld via the Enquirer w/ Rotoworld comments:

Chris Dickerson received a cortisone shot Sunday to relieve soreness in his right wrist.

Dickerson suffered a broken hamate bone at the end of April. He was slated to begin a rehab assignment last week, but he couldn't because of lingering soreness. He's out indefinitely.

Dickerson's Reds' career is over. Too many better options and he's injury prone. Might as well pursue his commentator job. He was pretty good when he sat in the booth on Fox Sports.

Do they even have a diagnosis on Homer? Or is it just an undefined shoulder injury? This year has been incredibly frustrating (for him and Reds fans alike) after seeing him perform so well down the stretch in 2009.

Yes. Truly didn't see this coming. Expected the complete opposite.

Least he's young. Homer still has plenty of time for a great career - hopefully in Cincy.

I was hoping for him to return and pitch decent enough we could package him in trade.

I'm more interested in keeping Cueto, Leake, Volquez, and Wood.

I just don't think Homer Bailey will ever be an important part of this Reds team that has really gelled this year. I think it goes back to Cueto making the team and Homer didn't. Johnny has been able to use the last two years to make him a better pitcher, learning on the job, while Bailey's stubborness early on forced him to the minors.

I think Homer will have an average career, and I wish him the best. But it hasn't ever felt like this is "home" for Homer. I hope he pitches well the rest of the year, so we can trade him over the offseason.

I don't see Bailey as a fixture in Cincinnati either.

I honestly don't like the guy.

I hate to say it, but I hope you're right. Although, he'll probably be one of those guys that goes on and does great with another team.

I also enjoyed listening to him in the booth. Thought he did a great job.

Dickerson is a guy you can't really hate. But I can't stand watching him bat. Terrible stance and swing. He just doesn't belong in the majors. Too many holes in that swing.

The starting outfield next year is Heisey, Stubbs and Bruce.

It's just a question of who is the 4th Outfielder.

I just dont see Bailey or Dickerson on this team next year. Dickerson will be released and Bailey I feel will be dealt. Unless he is converted to a releiver. I just dont think he has the stuff to be a good starter. He lacks a good third pitch.

If it isn't Gomes, consider me angry/baffled.

Well, I've changed my mind. I said Dickerson would probably get released, but I think Nix will gone and the Reds will keep Dick as an extra outfielder and LH bat off the bench.

Gomes would be the right guy. I was hoping Frazier would challenge to be that 4th Outfielder, but he's struggled this year so far.

Here's to Frazier having a good second half:

Bailey won't be with the reds big league club... Probable will replace owings out of the bullpen, but with Volquez coming back, there isn't any room for bailey... Unless of course the reds trade Aaron Harrang or bronson aroyo
