I've been waiting for a year for Wood to get his first start with Cincy. I really hope this kid does well today and that he gets some runs early so that he doesn't put unnecessary pressure on himself. Wrigley is probably a tough park to get a first start.

The Cubs have hit 2 deep flys to the track that might have gone out on other days. That said, Wood is pitching well and to contact.

I just turned it on a few innings ago and thought the same thing. That Votto called strike was ridiculous, only because Silva is getting that strike call but Wood at the hitters thighs is not getting that edge very often, unless it is obvious to the ump.
