Voting will start at www.mlb.com in about 7 minutes.

All-Star managers Charlie Manuel from the Phillies and Joe Girardi from the Yankees will provide those respective nominees. Voting will begin on MLB.com right after the Selection Show and will continue until 4 p.m. ET on Thursday. Results will be announced exclusively on MLB.com shortly after the balloting closes.

OK some more votes, lol. This not having a limit can kill you, I'm probably going to give him about 1,000 votes by Thursday surely.

In the end though, I think it's going to be who the people on the other side in the AL think is most deserving too. If you're a NYY or Boston fan or whoever, and you're putting that side vote in for someone while you're voting your ass off for your own player, I gotta think Votto has a really good chance of getting a lot of those votes. You think a Boston or NYY fan is going to vote for Billy Wagner? LOL. Don't think so IMO.

I think he stacks up very well with the competition there in the voting, anyone else think so? Plus as Reds fans, we're scored our best player got left off, and are voting possessed right now. With the other teams, I don't think they have that type of devotion to their own player.

Anyway, back to voting. :P

After Votto acted like a spoiled brat in the 1st inning and got kicked out of the game which hurt our team....he's lost my vote. Sorry that is just the way I feel. There are certain ways to handle stuff and that called 3rd strike with no one on base had nothing to do with him being upset. He's pissed not being picked for the all-star team. GROW UP!! damn, i would love to hear that clip. cowherd is a tool. i just hear van pelt on espn radio talking about how he disagrees with cowherd, said he told him so today when he got in. said cowherd basically says votto shouldnt be in because of his past or some crap. which van pelt said, you dont vote for a guy because of what hes done in the past, what has he done now, and votto deserves to be in.

essentially what cowherd did was see which all star snubs there were, and whoever was really snubbed bad, he was gonna disagree with no matter what. thats cowherds schickt. its just like he trashes small market teams, fans. he just wants to rile people up. before the butler/duke national championship game, he was trashing butler because he didnt think it was good for college basketball that butler was in the title game. said its a mid major that doesnt bring a lot of fans, thus ratings wont be as good.

first, why root against butler simply because of ratings, makes no sense at all. secondly, he was completely wrong, and it was like the 2nd highest rated championship game ever.

Voting Votto/Konerko spastically. Glad to hear White Sox fans are doing the same.

Any chance we could get this thread to read Votto and Konerko? The White Sox board got their thread to read Konerko and Votto. It would be nice to reciprocate over here, every little bit will help us and them.

Agreed. Konerko barely had a cup of coffee here, big deal. Youk is a Cincy native, I hope he makes it.

Can someone change the thread title to Votto and Youk? The White Sox fans have turned on us and now are voting Cargo.

Just remove Konerko. Why would anyone support those schizophrenic fans anyway? Geez, vote Swisher if not Youk. He is from Ohio and went to Ohio State. Is he deserving? Not really, but better than voting to help those crazy White Sox fans who feel like second class citizens despite being more successful than their cross town rivals.

changing my vote to youk. apparently its redszone fault that kornerko is behind a boston and new york player.

I've been voting Konerko. Now I'm going to start leaving my AL slot blank. Pretty week stuff from WSi to switch alliances mid-race. Sounds like something I would have done in middle school. Not that this vote really has any lasting importance anyway...

Don't blame all of WSI...I still haven't changed who I'm voting for. It doesn't seem like they understand that your voting for Konerko can't have the same impact on the vote count as our voting for Votto...We have over triple the number of posters on our board, so it's next to impossible! I'm a math teacher, though, so I understand numbers.

It's not the end of the world.

So you are saying that it was the White Sox voting that put Votto in the lead? While I appreciate the sentiment, your votes are probably not putting Votto over the top. In fact, he probably wins without any of your votes. While they are appreciated, I think you are really overestimating the power of your board. It would need to be about 300 times larger than the Redzone to truly have an effect.

The real lesson is Votto is not in first place because of WSI, and the Redzone did not have anything to do with Konerko's position. Yet that seems to be the strange and off base sentiment. There are a heck of a lot more people than the ones on these two boards. Those are the people your board should blame.

I am still voting for Konerko. He is an ex-Red and a nice guy. Incidentally, I am voting at the speed of light and so Konerko should be passing both Youkilis and Swisher in about ten minutes. :)

Why are there five players on the A.L. ballot and only four players on the N.L. ballot when the N.L. has 16 teams and the A.L. only has 14 teams? Oh yeah, to make sure both the Yankees and the Red Sox have a player on the ballot. I hate both of those teams.
