I will post the NYM lineup when I see it.

Just a few game (mets) notes:

Mets: Reyes likely out for series opener
The Mets will still likely be without star shortstop Jose Reyes in Monday's series opener. Reyes injured his right oblique last Wednesday in Puerto Rico, and manager Jerry Manuel said he expects Reyes to return to action on Tuesday.

Mets left fielder Jason Bay is 17-for-46 (.370) lifetime against Aaron Harang, with five home runs and six doubles. Teammate David Wright is 8-for-12 with two doubles and a homer off the Cincinnati right-hander.

I hope one of our wonderful media types get an update on Ramon Hernandez.

True dat, I meant to mention that he wasn't in the lineup and ask if anyone had heard anything. I think I read yesterday he did something to his leg sliding into 3rd base.

Reds
07-05-2010, 04:14 PM
Actually this is lifted from cincinnati.com, this is what I read:

HERNANDEZ HURTS KNEE: Catcher Ramon Hernandez was lifted from Sunday’s game with a sore knee. Hernandez hurt the knee sliding into third base, on his two-run triple in the sixth inning.

Baker said Hernandez was removed as a precaution. Hernandez’s replacement, Corky Miller, came in and joined the Reds’ seven-homer parade with his first homer since last September.

Might be their biggest lead of the year. Im not sure if they have a 2 game lead.

Reds
07-05-2010, 06:04 PM
I think we've only had a 2 game lead for a few hours until the Cards won that same day. :D We'd also go to 12 over if we can win.

Reds
07-05-2010, 06:17 PM
Catcher Ramon Hernandez was out of lineup after injuring his knee Sunday in Chicago. Corky Miller started.

“He’s got swelling in there that he didn’t have yesterday,” Baker said. “He’s a little sore. Hopefully, he’ll be better tomorrow. He’ll get treatment all day in case I’ve got to pinch-run or pinch-hit for Corky late in the game.

“The trainer is probably tired of me asking every 15 minutes.”

Could Hernandez catch in a pinch tonight?

“I don’t know yet,” Baker said.

And the emergency catcher?

“I’m not sure on that either,” Baker said.

Baker said it would probably Paul Janish.

Ryan Hanigan went 2-for-4 on his rehab assignment last night. He caught for the fifith time.

So is every pitcher going to have to move up and pitch on three days' rest for the rest of the road trip? How do we get these guys back on track? If the back is bad, I guess Harang to DL and probably Lecure back up? If not, does Micah take a start?

It was. But from my vantage point anyway, he had David Wright struck out looking his first time up, though it was borderline, and he definitely had Pelfrey struck out looking where the home plate umpire must have been napping.

It's the way it goes. At least that one went our way.

Nah, just bad luck. That's where no Ramon and no Hanigan hurts. They didn't want to deal with Stubbs and they wanted to set up a potential double play, so they wanted to make Corky Miller beat them. Seeing as how he's not a legitimate major league hitter and Ramon and Hanigan are, just bad luck that they're both banged up right now.

Yes. I'm afraid that when Hanigan returns his power is going to be zapped because of the nature of the injury. But, I'll still take the high OBP, low SLG Hanigan over Corky right now.

No, it'd be an out since the ump originally said the ball went off his bat. It would've gone down as a foul out caught by the catcher.

I was commenting on Butlers comment that the ball never touched him. So since it didnt hit him at the least it was going to be a ball.

fastest white guy in baseball....seriously.

Maybe in all of BB, white, black, purple...

I remember the pre-season argument after one of the announcers - Cowboy or Marty? don't remember - said he is the fastest Red ever. Many arguments for Eric Davis and Deion Sanders, but I think Stubbs could be the fastest.

He's so TALL it doesn't LOOK like he's moving fast, but dude is covering A LOT of ground.
He makes it look so easy in the OF we take it for granted, but him running around the bases is like a gazelle!

Why he was ever promoted is a head scratcher. He was terrible in AA. About the only thing you can say is he was only reliever left on the 40 man who they didn't try, but a guy with a 5+ ERA in AA is not the answer in the majors.
