Disagree....bad locations of pitches on each count....if you're a sabermetrician, you'd say he's been " BABIP lucky" tonight. Personally, I am a Bakermetrician, so I say "He's lookin' lucky, dude....so he ain't comin' out until he reaches 125."

5 IP, 1 ER on a solo HR and 7 K's. No walks. Not Arroyo's line - Niese's. This is starting to remind me of that pitiful Ryan Rowland-Smith game in Seattle....only difference is that we actually pushed one across.

Good news is, all of our guys have seen him twice now.

I used plenty of common sense.

I pitched Headley low, IBB'd Gonzalez every time and took advantage of Petco's spacious dimensions. Struck out both Hairstons in each at-bat.

How is that not a common sense approach?

I like how Joe Morgan blamed the Catcher for the homerun the REDS got because of bad pitch call.

It reminds me how little the "regular" fan (98% of REDSZONE including the OLD RED GUARD) understands how important a Catcher is to a Pitcher's peformance. Morgan said it so matter-of-factly as if anyone who understands anything about baseball knows this.

I also like how he matter-of-factly stated that a team's Defense changes how a pitcher performs and to a much, much, much greater degree than any normal fan (100% of all REDSZONE posters) gives a Defense credit for.

I don't think posters will ever understand the value of Defense and the value of a Catcher's play-calling.

Take it for what it's worth. The fact remains. 100% of REDSZONE posters far underestimate the value of Defense to a Pitcher's performance AND are completely clueless when it comes to understanding the value of a Catcher to a pitcher's performance.

I could care less if you think I'm being condescending.

What's arrogant are all of the posters who think they understand the value of Defense. They'll try to back up their beliefs with some stupid stats, which are meaningless instead of going with common sense, like the best 2nd Baseman to ever put on a uniform telling you matter-of-factly that "a great defense, not a good defense, will change how a pitcher pitches and encourage him to be more efficient with his pitches and not try to strike guys out", and that "a Catcher can take 100% of the blame for calling bad pitches and that leads to runs scored".

When I said 100% of REDSZONE posters, that obviously includes myself, or don't you know what 100% means?

Let's go Bronson!

Complete Game for Arroyo would be cool.

Even if it is 120 degrees.

Arroyo will have the All-Star break to rest up.

I'd go with him for 120 pitches tonight.

He has been cruising with a little over 80 pitches...wouldnt call that a lot of rope.

redsfan_12

Pitcher. Switch-hitter. Switch-hitter. I'd let Bronson go back out to start the 8th. But I would have someone ready. EDIT: Pinch hitter for the pitcher more than likely.

It should be. Somehow he made it look so simple.

People who have never tried to make that throw in a game have no idea how tough it is.

I remember my first time ever trying to do it when I was like 12 at baseball practice... needless to say it about 3 hopped it's way to first. My coach at the time said your arm isn't strong enough to do that yet buddy. :D

His defense alone should be a reason to resign him. Overall, I feel like 2B over the last two decades has been solid for the Reds.
