Now that he is on the team, with there already being 3 other 1st Basemen on the team, you have to wonder if he will see any playing time....

All that matters is that hes there. I wouldnt be caught up in if he actually gets extended time. I'm guessing he pinch hits.

Read on MLB.com that he received 13.7 millions votes and won by a landslide. Nice job everybody that voted for him.

He received nearly 14 of the 52 million votes.

is that 14 of the NL votes or all the votes?

Votto was a machine throughout the Final Vote. The Reds' first baseman won wire-to-wire, powered by a fury of snub response and leading all vote-getters with 13.7 million en route to becoming the first Cincinnati player to win the All-Star Final Vote. -mlb.com

52,000,000 votes cast by 150,000 fans works out to about 350 votes per fan. I probably voted about that many times. Call me Joe Fan.

I heard Votto declined on ORG.

There are 9.6 Million people in the Chicagoland area. If each person voted just once for Konerko he probably makes it. But it was Redszone's fault that he didn't.

Votto got over 28% of the votes? Insane.

I have a feeling we're going to see a replay of the Bret Boone All Star snubbing again. IIRC Bret was the ONLY NL all star who didn't play that year.

Hopefully he will DH

That's what I was going to point out, with the game being in the American League he could DH.

My guess is that player this year would be Omar Infante

I hope Votto doesn't play at all.

Eye on the prize, people.

Yeah, Even if he does'nt play I will truely still be happy. Having his name called out on the sideline will make me proud!

Who cares if he plays - that is not the point. The point is that the best player on a first place team who may have been the leagues first half MVP made the team. That is all that matters.

Again, have you guys watched an all-star game before. They sub in and out, pinch hit, just sit on the bench - it really doesn't matter.

Really? Go ask Mr. Votto if he wants to play or not. Ask players who went to the game in the past and didn't get in how they felt. Players want to play, because they are players.
