Nice to see Frazier have another good game.

How come Alonso was out of the lineup?

For some reason, Chase Ware, who's been so terrific in relief, started tonight for Lynchburg, and pitched scoreless, two-hit ball for 4.1 innings. I assume he was on a pretty strict pitch count. Anyway, his relievers (Watson, Christiani and Freeman, who has lately improved a lot), followed suit, and the Hillcats won 4-0. Felix Perez was 2 for 3 with a 3B and 3 RBIs.

Kevin Arico took the loss tonight for Dayton, taking a 2-1 lead into the ninth and giving up three.

He thought he was traded for Cliff Lee. :p:

Carolina raked tonight, 9-1. Dave Sappelt, 3 for 4, is now hitting .338. Jake Kahaulelio homered. Tom Cochran and Ruben Medina pitched well. Cochran usually does, as attested by his 7-3 record and 2.33 ERA.

If the Reds were to put together a rookie rotation of crafty lefthanders, I think Cochran would have to be your No. 3. It would go Wood, Maloney, Cochran, Fairel, and, as always, a battle for that fifth spot. It should probably go to Jukich, although you could return Horst to a starting role. Travis Webb doesn't really seem to fill the bill. Or Chapman, needless to say.

Not sure what purpose all that served.

Jeez louise. The DSL Reds lost today, 19-18. At one point, they led 15-7. Carlos Sanchez, a 19-year-old first baseman hitting .384, was 3 for 3 with 2 triples. We won't mention the pitchers.

I agree. It doesn't seem like he is getting enough work out of the pen to correct the mechanical/control issues he is having. Don't worry about him in Cincinnati at all this year. Put him back in the Louisville rotation and let him get his work in.

I agree, never like him moved to the pen in the first place.
