Sad news, though it has seemed to spike interest in his life and work (which are really the same thing).

I had no idea he was this old.

Does anyone besides me think he looked like Miami hoops coach Charlie Coles?

His Letterman appearances in the '80's were historical gems.

If anyone want to learn about him, the bio-pic American Splendor is a good, entertaining start. Paul Giamatti at his best in role he was born to play.

Yeah, I have at least a couple of the Letterman appearances on videotape. Really funny stuff.
