The mother of one of his kids wants more cash, but the whole part about seeing your kid 5 days in 4 years doesn't sound so good...not really part of the image that he and the Reds are projecting...

He does a lot of good for this team and the community, but not such a good situation here...such a shame. Here's hoping that changes soon...

Phillips, who was selected as a reserve in tomorrow's MLB All-Star Game, and Danielle Daluisio had a casual relationship in 2006 that resulted in a daughter, Micole Malia Phillips. Phillips has seen the child a total of five days in four years according to Daluisio's lawyer, Lynne Gold-Bikin, chairwoman of Weber Gallagher's family-law division.http://www.philly.com/dailynews/columnists/dan_gross/20100712_Dan_Gross__Reds__star_Brandon_Phillips_in _Family_Court_here.html (http://www.philly.com/dailynews/columnists/dan_gross/20100712_Dan_Gross__Reds__star_Brandon_Phillips_in _Family_Court_here.html)

I never knew he even had a kid.

Apparently, he has more than one.

Seeing that kid 5 days in 4 years, I'd say Brandon hardly knew he had a kid either. This is a guy that has 4 1/2 months off every year and makes millions. He couldn't squeeze in a couple more visits? There must be more to this story as well.

I'm thinking there might be.

And if there isnt more to the story, who cares, sucks for the kid, but that is none of our business, our business is whether or not he can get on base and score runs, not take care of his kid.

He pays 5k per month. Thats 60k a year... How much money does raising a child cost? Holy smokes.

When the father of your child is going to be making $30 MM over the next few years, you'd assume child support for the child would be more than .6% of his annual income (before taxes). $60,000 may seem a lot to us, but nothing compared to what BP is making.

Lesson, kids?

Pre-nup.

If hes been paying 60k since the kid was born, and pays that until the kid is 18, thats 1,080,000. Sorry I dont care how much hes making there is something wrong with that number. I hope they are getting proof that money is going to that kid and not the woman.

Well, looks like he'll have to try a little harder to get that 'father of the year' award.

Someone seriously thinks $60k is too much child support for BP to be paying?!?

Lesson, kids?

Pre-nup.

He didn't marry her. This would have to have been more of a pre-coit.

Pre-nup.

I don't think you can pre-nup casual relationships. If so there would be even more illegitimate children.

there has to be something more to this story. I know that none of us know any of these guys but he just seems like such a happy good guy. being a father myself i couldnt imagine only seeing my child 4 times in 5 years.

There's no amount of $$ that can take the place of a father in a child's life. JMO.

If the woman's lawyer said it, then it must be true.

I hope the woman is being smart with all of that money and can get the child a positive father figure.

You know...she may have trapped him. I've heard celebs and athletes talk about how this is common.

I hope he got a DNA test.
