off topic but i just wanna say that last nights all star game was amazing especially the first 5-6 innings watching pretty much every pitcher throw 98+ with location.

this is good for the reds but as a fan i wanted to go watch ubaldo lose a sunday afternoon game 1-0 against the reds.

This makes no sense, why wouldn't you throw your ACE?

heck yeah!! it looks like we will see Strasburg on probably Wednesday night because he is due to start this Friday night without any off days for the Nats in between friday and wednesday. This is good because I'm going to Thursdays game :)

Maybe they don't want him to get his 2nd loss :)

Just saw this, about time Reds catch a break like this. I can't believe they are holding him back.

Maybe it's the same reason that the majority of this board bellyaches about with our pitchers. He did pitch in the All-Star game, perhaps they don't want him to come back to quickly from that, i.e. the infamous Aaron Harang four inning relief stint a couple of years back.

I know he only went two innings, but it seems to me this is most likely what they think. Or maybe, like Dusty Baker, Jim Tracy is simply stupid. Or maybe he thinks the Rockies can beat the Reds without him?

Out of the scenarios I have listed I would say it is to allow him some additional rest.

Either way it's a break for the Reds and for all the hammers that they have been facing of late, let's just be glad about it.

He only threw 25 pitches, and even if you count that as an outing he would still be due to go on Sunday on normal rest. He has thrown a lot of innings, I agree lets just be happy.
