Thanks.

That lineup in Louisville is full of potential Major League help. It's really like watching the REDS' "B" game.

Mes pops out to the first baseman on a 3-0 count. Pitch looked right down hte middle on the game day thing. No idea how accurate that is.

May be just me, but it seems like there have been an inordinate number of triples throughout the farm system this year.

Curtis Partch is having a rough year. He started tonight for Lynchburg, which lost 6-3.

For that matter, Lynchburg is having a rough year. In tonight's lineup, there's not a man hitting over .278.

The AZL Reds are now up 4-2 after a HR by Jaren Matthews, whom I've never heard of. Samuel Diaz has two hits to raise his average to .366.

Edit: OK, I see that Matthews is a 37th-round pick this year out of Rutgers.

We have added lots of speed the last two seasons.

Not a lot of good news from the old ball park last night. When the starting pitcher gets two of the six hits on the night, it can't be a good evening. Carroll hit better than he pitched, giving up five BB and striking out four.

Dee Gordon, the Dodgers top prospect was a show. The guy stole three bases, went 4 for 5 at the plate, scored three times, and....drove in three runs. That pretty much says it all for last night.

Jerry Sands, the Lookouts first baseman, is a local product. The kid played at Clayton High School which is about 30-40 minutes or so from the park. He had his own fan club there Sunday and last night. Fortunately for the home crowd, the guy didn't do any damage last night.

Good crowd for a Monday night. That's about the only positive comment a Mudcat fan can muster after watching last nights game. A noon start today with Cochran on the hill and the guys are back on the road. The Mudcats need todays game to split the series.

Update on the AZL Reds game last night: They squandered the lead and trailed 5-4 going into the ninth, which Jaren Matthews led off with his second HR of the game. The Reds then went on to score three more with the help of a key error and doubles from Yovan Gonzalez and David Vidal, who's got it going on at the moment. A fellow named Joel Ernst, listed as being from Loveland, closed with a perfect bottom of the ninth.
