CoCo's got 'em right where he wants 'em...it's not a challenge unless the tying run is on base.

Is Isringhausen ready?... ;)

The Amazing CoCo. Back within a half game and Wood once again doesn't get a win.

For those scoring the wild card race, the Giants are up 2-1 in the 5th.

2nd and 3rd 0 outs for the Dbacks, though.

That was perhaps the most negative and difficult to read game thread I've read this year, especially considering that the Reds won.

I <3 Hanigan

You're less than 3 Ryan Hanigans? I'm not sure that's something to complain about. ;)

~sorry, I'm catching up on the game thread today...was at the game last night.

Bad, bad play by Phillips.

Disagree completely. Brandon did EXACTLY what he's supposed to do on that pop up. It's up to BRUCE to call him off...and he should have. If you noticed, later in the game the same situation arose and he was shouting like crazy calling Phillips off. I'm sure Dusty said something to him in the dugout.

Wow...I agree completely. That was atrocious guys.

People ragging on Travis when he really only gave up 2 runs. That homerun by Pence would've been an out in just about ANY other stadium.

People ragging on Bruce when if you go back and look, the kid was 1 for 3 with 2 rbis on the night.

People ragging on Phillips when he had a subpar game going 0 for 4...but ignoring the fact that he's leading the league in runs scored and is 2nd in hits and is hitting .285 still.

There are days that this site is nearly unbearable with the negativity. Half game out of FIRST PLACE, best young pitching this club has had in its HISTORY, top 5 defensive club in the league, and leading the league in hitting.

Yeah, I see the reason for all the complaining.

And for what it's worth...Bud Norris may have some crappy stats, but the kid's got one heck of an arm on him. 2 cent noggin, but I certainly don't fault the Reds on him getting some K's last night.

Who taught him to run?

I was quite confused by this play. It looked so much like a missed hit and run. But Phillips actually called for Berry to relay the signs TWICE because he missed them the first time. I can't imagine him missing them the second time too. Maybe Janish missed the sign. Or maybe Berry doesn't know what he's doing.

I'm gonna go with the last one. :O)

Berkman walks. 1st and 2nd.

Dear God

They need to trade for a closer, I don't care what people say.

So tired of watching this.

I could understand it most of the time...but a single up the middle that must've bounced 10 or 12 times before it even made it out of the infield, followed by a walk to Berkman on a strikezone the size of a postage stamp all night long?

Kinda hard to get on Cordero too harshly for that sequence IMO. It's to the point now that if he DOESN'T go 1-2-3 he's roasted over hot coals.

My comment was after the walk. He wasn't close to hitting the strike zone against Berkman. No matter how scared you may be of him, you can't put the winning run at the plate in that situation.

I never understand why people get upset about game threads. Game threads are full of emotional posts made in the heat of the moment while watching the game. Isn't it kind of expected to have overreactions?

I agree that you can't put the winning run up there. But I was at the game and he got squeezed....big time. All the pitchers did. I even went back and looked at gameday...2 were borderline balls. It was a really uneven strike zone all night long IMO.
