I found this article last night on my RSS feed and went back to check out if there were any new comments that were posted overnight. Well, yesterday the article was titled: "Finally Playing Like The Best Team" meaning the Cardinals. Well since this was posted after they had lost three in a row and fallen out of first place, the comments were quite amusing.

So this morning I went back to look and guess what? They changed the title to "Cardinals Hampered By Inconsistency" and one of the comments calls them out on it. Funny stuff!

Best Team or Inconsistent? (http://www.stltoday.com/sports/baseball/professional/article_e7020472-8eb0-544d-a3df-41c6f504862d.html?mode=story)

Here is my favorite post from the article from a Cards fan. While many of us like to believe that Dusty does things that no other manager would ever do, here is a comment from a card fan talking about LaRussa:

"I will first preface, I am NOT a LaRussa fan at all, LaRussa's over managing drives me crazy. So, that being said, I will lay the club's lack of performance squarely on LaRussa's shoulders. If you recall, the very series of the year, they were playing Pittsburgh with a chance for a sweep...and to START a winning streak at the beginning of the season...so on the sweep day...he sits down two or three of his starters? How could they POSSIBLY be tired? They lose the game and set the tone season."

I guess fans are the same everywhere.

I'm not a fan of Larussa either. I think he definitely is a micromanager.

I like Dusty, but disagree with alot of his managerial "gut" moves. I also think he caters too much to his players in lieu of making the right move at times, so he doesn't upset their apple cart so to speak. But he must do a good job of creating clubhouse chemistry, because this team does have that going for it.
