We know the Reds are leading the league in runs scored (although the inconsistency is troublesome). But I was surprised to find that the Reds lead the league in unearned runs allowed with 15.
The next closest teams are SD and NY (surprise) with 17 and then it jumps to Phi with 29.
Looking at the bullpen (when good defense is most critical) only Nick Masset has given up 1 unearned run. No other current reliever has been let down by the defense.
If pitching and defense wins championships we just need one of Harang or Volquez or Bailey to finish strong and we'll be in good shape!
