3-2 Cards now. They had the bases loaded with 0 outs and a DP that scores one and a ground out get them out of it without further damage. Could've been MUCH worse for the Astros & Meyers.

Always had big time strikeout stuff, but used to have a problem with walks. He's cut his walks down this year, and it's taken him from mediocre to pretty nasty. He's the type of guy who'd look good in any pen.

That is a shame for Cabrera he had put up really good numbers since the break. He has been hitting .348 since the break.

I think it is either Dickerson or Sutton. Don't think Cozart makes much sense especially since he isn't on the 40 man roster.

This. There are plenty of options for utility IF'ers....Sutton shouldn't be one of them. He's been horrid.

Has Cozart been up before? I know Sutton has been horrible - but why start the clock on someone if you don't have to?

Janish/Sutton can fill in for OCab for a few weeks...

Call up Cozart in September.

If Cabera goes on the DL, I'm pretty sure it will be Cozart. It will be a nice way to break him into the bigs and get him ready for next year. He's definitely ready defensively.

You can't bring Dickerson up for him. With Votto out, you'd be playing literally with no backup infielders.

I guess Sutton is probably the logical choice.

If Votto can go tomorrow you can. I know you think he will be out for more than a game or two but I think he will be back sooner than later.

This Wood kid is the real deal, even if it was against the Buccos. I really feel with Wood, Leake, and others, we have the makings of a pretty good rotation--and home grown.

The loss of Cabrerra, if he is lost, will be more costly than you think. Though much maligned, he has been a sparkplug and I strongly feel that any offense you get from Janish for the long term will be much less.

In a season like this, you don't let a little service time get in the way of making the best move for the team. I think it really comes down to whether or not they're comfortable with Janish starting. If yes, I think it'll be Valaika to come off the bench. If no, it'll Cozart in a starting role.
