I'm giving Janish the same pass I'm giving Leake. Rust.Probably, but in Leake's case--unfortunate circumstances. Walk, botched double play, hit batter. Now he throws the ball away. Sigh. Just not his night. Or the Reds.

Yup. Janish was rusty all thru his minor league career too!

Let me say this...I was for Janish getting more playing time in the first half for TWO reasons.

1. regular rest for an older OCab keeps him fresher for the entire year and he's MUCH better in the field and at the plate when he's rested.

2. regular playing time for Janish keeps his mind in the game and keeps his stroke going...which in the first half was going VERY well.

Play once a month...you're gonna look bad.

Garcia is at 121 innings as of now. Last season (2009)he threw only 37 innings after coming back from September 2008 TJ surgery. In 2008 he threw 122 innings before his surgery. He pitched 103 innings in 2007. He is only 24 years old.

If Dusty was thinking then I guess he decided that he would rather have Cairo up with the chance to tie the game then he would Janish.I guess I can agree with that except that there is still an inning to play in witch Dusty could have forced the Pirates to pitch to Votto trailing by a run.Now Votto is probably burnt unless the game goes into extra innings.

I honestly believe Dusty didn't think about the fact 1B was open. No way possible. He could have had Votto leading off this inning and forced to be pitched to even if Janish failed to get a hit. All without sacrificing D.

My favorite part about this team is that they never give up. Today, win or lose, was another fine example of that.
