I thought he went out for back spasms. Was it more serious than that? Has he even started any type of throwing regimen? Is he ready to start a rehab assignment? Any news at all on Aaron Harang?

The last I heard he hasn't started throwing yet.

Harang throws successful bullpen session. (http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20100804&content_id=13008796)

PITTSBURGH -- Reds starter Aaron Harang picked up his throwing program Tuesday, tossing a successful bullpen session as he tries to return from lower back spasms that have kept him on the disabled list since July 6, retroactive to July 1.

Assuming he doesn't aggravate the injury, I could see him starting a rehab assignment in a couple weeks.

I believe he has had back issues before that has landed him on the dl. This is a very touchy issue for pitchers, back problems can take a while to heal and flar up at anytime. I mean isn't that what just knocked Russ Springer out of the game Wed?

His was a hip flexor (muscle) I believe. Kinda of a cramp/spasm as I've heard it described.
