It almost has to get in Jay's head against lefthanders. I know it's not literally the case, but it seems like after 2 pitches, he's often in an 0-2 hole.

Umpire not giving Wood the corners at all. Of course, I only thought maybe one of them was a strike, but even so he's not giving him the call... or didn't there.

He threw a ton of pitches the last 2 days. If he pitched again tonight he wouldn't even be available tomorrow. Maybe that would be a good thing but it won't happen.

No way Coco comes in. Probably will be Smith for another inning or possibly Fisher. Although I'd rather not see Fisher unless we score another run or two.

Can't say never, but basically never. The Phillies played a road game at home last year I think because of an event. Howard became the first NL player to DH in a NL ballpark I think.

yeah, I don't think there's a window. That game is 95% canceled at this point IMO. Either that or it'll be dark when they start.

Actually, the more I think about it, I'd kind of like to see them play that game in Miami and have it fairly deep into the evening and win or lose have the Cards nice and tired coming in to Cincinnati, as someone else mentioned... especially with Carpenter on the mound.

I'd say they'll probably call that game though.

MIAMI _ Today's Cardinals-Florida Marlins game was called after a second rain delay of 3 hours 7 minutes. The teams played only seven minutes after the game was delayed 55 minutes in starting.

No makeup date has been scheduled.
