View Full Version : Chapman has to come today...doesn't he?

You have to think the team wants him to make his debut at home and after Sunday they are gone for a while.
You also have to think that he could be a shot in the arm to the team as well as the casual fan base after the disaster series earlier this week.
I just can't think that any other day but today makes sense.

They would've marketed it more if they were calling him up today IMO

Since he will be a reliever when he comes up that would pretty much wash away the marketing. I believe he will come up sometime before Septtember 1 so he can be on the playoff roster. But since no announcement has come yet, I doubt it will be tonight.

I'm with ya redsfan30. I've been checking Redszone all day expecting to see it. I agree the team could use a shot in the arm. Just don't understand why you wouldn't call him up. Chapman or Bray? Doesn't seem that difficult to me.

I don't believe we'll see Chapman until August 31. He'll be up in time for becoming postseason-eligible but done to where any corresponding demotion will be for only a day.

They should bring him up for the Cubs series at the end of August. I'll be at two of those games and would LOVE to finally see him pitch in person. Plus it gives him a little more time to keep refining everything down at Louisville. Plus it would just be fun to watch him blow the Cubs away. :p:

Chapman and Isringhausen will both be here by the 31st but I don't really expect it will be this weekend. The only pitcher you may see back this weekend is Bailey.
So far the Reds have not officially announced starters for Saturday or Sunday. Not sure if Cueto will appeal his suspension or if Leake is taking his regular start on Saturday.
