'Bout time somebody started it. I was afraid I was gonna have to, which would have surely doomed the entire system to losses. ThanksMTH.

Bats start is rain delayed

Just spoke with my sister, she lives just to the East of Louisville and they've had some strong storms moving through.

But only for two innings. Maloney will pitch after him.

It's only through 6, but the Dragons are making a legit attempt at ending their ridiculous home losing streak...leading 3-0 currently.

Corcino with 5 scoreless innings, and Henry Rodriguez 3 for 3 at the plate.

No score after 2 in Cbus.

Dorn's triple was with 1 out.

Wood 2IP, 3H, 1 BB and 2K. He's now out of there. Good move to hold his IP down IMO.

Meso going for the cycle...only hit a lousy single. 4-4 now

Sorry to say, but the Dragons are on the road tonight. They somehow manage to steal a few wins on the road every now and then.

Duran homers for the second night in a row. He and Alonso have had great Augusts. It is good to see guys close strong.

The caddy system works very well to keep innings down while simultaneously keeping him on regular schedule.

I wouldn't be shocked if Leake has something similar happen soon.

Man, needed for Duran to start showing something and he's come through in a pretty big way. Could be huge going forward.

Justin Walker must be figuring something out: 6 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 8 K. Lynchburg wins 3-1.

Went to Jax/Carolina game. (naturally). Such a diferent vibe when Klinker is pitching. This guy is so relaxed and confident. We talked a couple minutes before the game and he said he was going to "lull them to sleep". He said that he is not scheduled to be called up to AAA as part of the Bailey move, but maybe if he had a real good game.....who knows.

Well, he had the game and afterwards, he came by and said "there it is, let's see what they do".

I had not seen Mesoraco do anything all year but he certainly busted out tonight. All 4 hits were blasted. The last single was a smash that looked like it may go out but had topspin and hit the wall on the fly. But it was hit so hard he couldn't get to 2nd.

Jake K, had a stellar defensive game, and Negron did not play, but I did not get a chance to see how he was feeling.

Thanks for the report Jax. Along with Cueto, Volquez, Leake, Wood, Chapman and Bailey, I consider Klinker part of our young starter depth. I think with a good start to the season next year, he could get a call up if anyone goes on the DL.

I think he another reason we may be able to deal guys like Maloney, LeCure or even Bailey over the offseason. Our depth may also mean time to let the 'next wave' (Hochkiss, Guillion, Cline, Corea, Sulbaran, Lotzkar(?), etc.) of starters develop at their own pace.

Homer's going back to Cincy has no effect on the Bats roster. Rehab assignments don't count as roster spots.

Bats lost 1-0. They're back to 1.5 out of 1st

Henry Rodriguez was 4 for 4 with a HR in Dayton's 4-2 win. Daniel Corcino threw five scoreless with 6 K.
