Dickerson is a helluva lot better than Edmonds at this stage of the game. Not even close.

If we lose this, the loss is squarely on Dusty. He puts in Edmonds who can't convert a chance to get a big lead, then can't run down a ball in center Stubbs gets. All to appease a veteran. What else is new.

So the deal with the invisible chimpanzee in this commercial is that PETA complained about them using a chimp. So instead of re-shooting it, the producers just erased the chimp.

They should have made a new commercial where the chimp explodes when he presses the button. That would teach them.

Idiotic move on both accounts. Terrible aquisition. And Dusty the Master Moron strikes again.

There's just something about Edmonds on the Reds that seems to be at odds with the universe. He's no all-star anymore, but he's not as bad as he's looked so far....1-14 at the plate, base-running blunders, weak, weak arm from center and no range.

And Drew plays a much deeper CF. One of the many tricks Edmonds pulled on those of you who worshiped him over the years is that he made diving catches either because he had to because he got a late break, was mis-positioned, or was trying to be dramatic.

STL fans talking about luck is hilarious considering how many junk pitchers they've gotten career years out of for like the past half decade.

He's been on pace to get his career high in Wins for a while. Should get to 16 (new career high) and possibly get to 18. Looking like a lock that the REDS pick up the $12M option for 2011.

Just watched the replay of Stubbs rounding third and it was seemed inconclusive. But what I want to know is how the home plate umpire could have possibly seen that from behind the plate? Why wouldn't that be the third base umpire's call? Or does the the third base ump tell the home plate ump that he missed it?

I thought it was abundantly clear he hit the left rear corner of the bag with his toe. He even left clay on the outside of the bag - visible if you look closely enough.

Further, I agree that it was curious that the home plate ump made that call.

As a former HS umpire, that is the plate man's call. He may have 95 feet from where stands, but that's the way it is.

true, but as you know being an umpire, you dont make a call unless you are 100% positive he missed it. No way an umpire that far can be that sure unless you miss it by a few feet. That is what made me upset.....now if the 3rd base umpire called it and he was looking at it, then i would understand.....but no way can a home plate umpire make that call when its that close.....its like asking him to see if a 1st baseman pulled his foot from the bag on a bang bang play.....he simply cannot give you a 100% yes or no when its that close.

oh well, its over and it did not cost us, but it sure should be used as a learning tool at the umpires winter classes.
