Gotta keep the karma going for six more outs. Add a solid Homer to this rotation and look out. He looked great tonight and totally composed and focused.

7th inning comeback was huge to K the last two, that last pitch was sick.

Still amazes me how many people wanted to give up on Homer, even after his dominant close to the 2009 season. Volquez, as he continues his comeback, is now by far the weakest link in the rotation, kind of a ridiculous problem to have with leake ready to fill in with a moment's notice...

There ws a time not long ago where many felt as long as we returned from the west cost trip not too far off the lead, we'd be in good shape.

Even if we lose the last 5 games, and the Cards win their next 5, we'd only be behind by 1/2 game.

Scully's a treasure, the most literate announcer in the game, and the best at calling historic games, but his voice is starting to go and the stories about the batters middle school teacher are getting to be a bit much.

I can understand where you're coming from. The truth is Vin Scully is a human being and time takes it's toll but Vin is still one of The Best.

Personally I'd rather listen to Vin's background stories of players and coaches than listen to Marty and Thom quiz Jeff Brantley about his eating habits.

Above all I tune in to hear PBP but I find a little information about players in between pitches/plays more entertaining than the fact that Jeff likes mayonnaise on his butter beans. ;)

When our trip to Missouri was looming, my wife said she'd like us to be up a good bit when we go to her home. Never in our wildest dreams did think it would be this big of a lead. Just up at our hotel in Illinois and getting ready to head into St. Louis for breakfast with some of her friends from college (Mizzou). Her best friend from high school and college married a guy from Lancaster, so we'll be 3 Reds fans, 3 Cards fans.

I'm wearing my shirt with the big Mr. Redlegs on it and an image of Crosley Field priceboard on the back. I've promised to not be obnoxious, something I wouldn't be. I want to tread lightly because I'm feeling some serious superstitions coming on. I'm glad we're in first, but it will 10-1 "agin" us in Jeff City (home of Sam LeCure, 1st MLB player from Helias High School).
