Klinker just isn't like he was last year.

He has struggled with his control - he is leaving the ball up in the zone.

Mudcats are down 4-0 in the third. Avery is getting beat early. The Mudcats line up has, for the most part, been depleted with call ups. Pretty much just playing out the season from here.

Mudcats pick up a run to make it 4-1.

FWIW, go Bats, I want to see playoff baseball.

He's not. He may pitch some tonight and Monday is TBA, but he isn't on the schedule to start right now.

Thanks, sorry to hear that. Is this because he's not thought to be ready to go any distance?

Pitch count can't be a problem because he threw 95 pitches in his last start and he was being hit like a drum. There was never anyone up in the pen during the drubbing. I never heard a reason why he wasn't getting the start tonight.

A guess is that he has mechanical problems that are being worked on. But who knows.

Thanks again. He sure could be of use in Cinti if he can get anywhere near even the form of earlier this year.

He's awful right now. I wouldn't expect much.

Player IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA
Harang 6.0 9 6 6 0 5 1 9.00

As you can see, he had good control, but he was very hittable. There were several well hit balls that were caught in that game.

Ismael Guillon carried a perfect game into his last start. He lost a no-hitter with two outs in the 5th inning tonight. Guillon may be the Reds second best pitching prospect behind Chapman. Jonathan Correa is up there too.

At one point Guillon had struck out seven in a row. Guillon strikes out two more in the 6th. Now has 11 on the night.

Season totals (including tonight): 57IP 39H 21ER 1HR 23BB 73K.

After being shut out in the first game of a doubleheader, 5-0, Lynchburg won the second 1-0. Pedro Villarreal, back to starting and liking it, went five and struck out 7. Jeffords and Christiani finished. Ryan LaMarre was 2 for 2 with a walk.

The Valaika move, if true, would seem very odd indeed, in light of Phillips' swollen wrist.

Tanner Robles has to be in the discussion as well. After a few bad starts to his career he has been the BEST SP in the system over his last 8 starts.

(8 Starts) 38 IP / 21 H (.142 BAA) / 4 ER (0.95 ERA) / 10 BB (2.0 Per 9) / 45 K (10.62 Per 9) / WHIP 0.82

Reds are limiting his IP. He is already 82.2 IP over last season.

I know his fastball sits at 88 in scouting vids. Has he found a few extra MPH or is his secondary stuff just that nasty? (Curve/Slider)

That was my thought and if Phillips' wrist is worse than a few days off he can be Dled and Valakia can be brought back up.
