I dig the price for the bleacher seats.

If we go, I'm there.

I've waited my whole life for this. Too young to remember 1990, and though I followed the 99 team, I was too wrapped up in high school stuff/my own sports to get into them like I've gotten into them now.

my god that's a crazy markup. i knew they would be more, but i figured the first round would start around $20. i guess when you suck for so long you can do this.

Not the Reds' fault. MLB tells them how much to charge.

When will non-ST holders get a chance to buy?

Girevik
08-26-2010, 09:24 AM
And how will they be made available (lotter, first come, ect)? I'd love to get down there for at least one playoff game.

I don't quite understand the "season" pricing? Is this the price for each game if you buy the whole series?

260 isn't bad for a playoff ticket for Diamond seats. In fact, I may be up to buying one.

Insane, that's what I think. But I will find a way to pony up the cash and go to at least one game. Hopefully 3 games, one in each series.

What are chacnes of non season ticket holder, out of stater getting tix? Will they sell out to season tix before available to general public? Will they sell at stadium before online?

Captain13
08-26-2010, 11:57 AM
Bounty, I know things have changed a bit since then, but in 1999 tickets went on sale online and over-the-phone at the same time as at the stadium. I just spoke to the ticket office and they have not set a date yet for ticket sales. Good luck, I hope to see you at the ballpark in October.

Normally, playoff ticket prices are set by MLB after consulting with each team involved. I know they were quite expensive at Busch II when the Cards played at home in the first round.

davereds24
08-26-2010, 07:32 PM
Tickets will go on sale to the public about week before the season ends, depending on when/if they clinch the division.

There will not be many available to the public as season ticketholders can purchase additional tix, and mlb had an auction where you can pay in advance to secure tix.

This is what I was told from an employee.

How many full sason ticket holders are there? I trying to figure out how many play-off tickets will be available for general sales. Full season ticket holders are being offered additional play-off tickets. So, if there are 15,000 full season tickets & they are offered 15,000 additional ducats. That is 30,000 play-off tickets gone. Then, add an additional 1,000 for celebs & execs. I look for the Reds to follow the lead of other past play-off teams & offer play-off tickets this year for any full season tickets for next year. That doesn't leave much for general sales.

I was speaking with a co-worker of mine today, and I was told of a frightening scenario. She is a 10-game package season ticket holder, so she doesn't need to enter the raffle. However, she got a letter saying in order to purchase playoff tickets, she has to prepay for BOTH the NLDS and the NLCS!! Is this true? I can stomach buying a few individual playoff tickets (assuming I win the raffle), but pre-paying 600-800 is something I simply cannot afford. Is this really the case? Huge thumbs down if so.

Just bought my post-season tickets, right at 9:00am the moment partial-season ticket holders could get in. What god-awful seats! Supposedly the only purchasers in front of us is full season ticket holders, could they buy as many seats as they wanted to buy? I'm just wondering where all the good seats went?!

Redsfanao
09-10-2010, 10:53 AM
I think full season ticket holders could buy their regular allotment of seats plus a bonus amount of the same number. So basically, if you have 4 full season seats, you can buy 8 playoff tickets. In theory if there are 12,000 full season ticket holders, they could account for 24,000 seats.

I'm a partial season ticket holder and was actually able to get pretty good seats this morning. My season seats are in the bleachers and today I got some view level box seats behind the plate. I'm pretty happy with them.

If anyone here gets the option to buy but doesn't want to go to all the games, let me know. I'd love to get to a game or two if I don't win the raffle.

Speaking of that, has anyone heard the results? They said the results would be released "around the 10th", which was Friday.

I havent heard anything either, yet. I just cannot stomach buying tickets for the entire series. Total cost is somewhere in the $800.00 range. :( I wonder what a single-game ticket will go for on StubHub.

Also, I'll echo the statement of:

"If anyone here gets the option to buy but doesn't want to go to all the games, let me know."

Ill gladly purchase 1-2 games if someone might want to split the cost with me.

You guys should just buy the series, and list the game you don't want to go to on ebay, i'm sure you'd probably get above face value for playoff tickets. I plan on going to all 3, but if I can't go because I can't skip classes twice in a week, thats what i plan on doing. lol.

Considering how many people did not get selected, I would imagine that it would be pretty easy to sell whatever tickets you can't use for at least face value, and probably make some money.

I for one won the opportunity to purchase NLDS tickets only. I am happy with that. I can purchase up to 6 tickets for each of the selected games. I put out an email to my buddies and I had replies back in seconds saying they wanted in. I am so psyched that I can go. The last time I went to a playoff game was in 1990. If I have any back outs I'll post them here before going to stubhub. I think it's only fair to do, I hate the fact that people will buy tickets tomorrow and automatically sell them on Ebay or Stubhub to people who really want to go.

I got my ding e-mail yesterday. I guess I can hold out a small hope that I'll get lucky in that "2nd chance" drawing or that they'll make it to the NLCS and I'll get those.

My offer stands for anyone who has to buy the entire series and wants to unload a game or two....

Thats whats frustrating about it. I was fortunate enough to win the raffle, but it would be nice if there was a way to keep tabs on peoples attendance during seasons, and down years. Maybe some kind of Reds IQ test to get in the stadium, lol. I know going on opening day just annoys me because the stadium is filled with people who have no clue what's going on.

That's what I have for potential game 2. My game 1 seat is a wheelchair companion seat. What do you do if you have two wheelchair tickets, but neither of the people needs a wheel chair?

I called the Reds Ticket Line and they even had no idea what it meant. Whenever Handicapped seats would pop up it would be highlighted in red and these weren't. They said they should be normal seats . Hopefully they're right. I went ahead and bought 2 View Level for Game 2. Can't wait.

The thing is, there are no handicap seats in the 500 level. All the upper deck handicap seats are technically in the 400 level. So I'm not sure what the WEB could mean other than the simple fact that they are bought on the web. Are we all over thinking this way too much?

Thanks for that. Never thought about that. As for the WEB , read my above post. I called the ticket line and everything. Even they have no idea what it means. I've never seen it before even buying tickets online for a regular season game.

I'm hesitant to buy, though. I'm going to be out of town for games 3 and 4, and if they don't have home field advantage, then I'd miss both.

Get 'em and then worry about the consequences. It's been 15 years! I'm sure if you can't make the games, some nice people here, or elsewhere will take them off your hands! :-)

Well, I went ahead and got one ticket for the second home game. Wanted to get two for someone else to go with, but I'd prefer not getting the wheelchair ones. Thought about the scouts seats, but went with infield box. Had to print at home, though, since my mailing addy would be different from billing.

I just hope the Reds can get home field advantage for the NLDS. :beerme:

I received 6 tickets for both game 1 and game 2. If anybody has extra tickets for the NLDS, we can work something out for a couple of my NLCS tickets

I am so jealous of those of you who live in Cincy. How I would love to see a playoff game...

BTW what is the format for the NLCS as far as which games are home or away? Team with home field advantage has....Home-Game 1&2, Away 3&4, Home 5, Away 6, Home 7?

I got denied again for the NLCS. I remember back in 99 I bought tickets to the division series against the Braves, right before the start of the one game playoff vs the Mets. Ended up having to make another 2 hour trip back to the Cincy area to get refunded for the tickets at a Kroger. That sucked. Oh and my 1999 one game playoff ticket.....cost a whopping $6.

I am VERY happy I scored 3 view level tickets for each game in the first round when they went on sale to the public. All of them are in the View level above home plate. I will need to sell my 3 tickets to Sunday October 10th though (or trade for 3 to a NLDS game). If anyone in the Lexington area is interested in them, let me know.

Quick Question about Ticket Insurance. Has anybody been able to get a refund on the insurance? I bought ticket insurance under the assumption that this would insure my refund for NLCS tickets if the Reds don't make it; however, after buying the tickets I came to find out that the refund would be provided by the Reds, not the ticket insurance. Anybody else operate under the same assumption as me, or am I just an idiot?

I got my tickets to game 1 on stubhub. Now the wait to see if I have to pull him out of school and take a vacation day, or if he'll miss one of his footballs games on the Sunday.....
