Thinking back to last night... anyone see Carlos Marmol's K rate? He's got 108 ks in 60 innings. Just insane.

For pitchers with at least 40 innings pitched, Marmol's 16.1 K/9 would be the best in major league history, blowing away Eric Gagne's 15.0 in 2003.

If Marmol pitched 200 innings, he'd be on pace for 360 strikeouts.

How do you know they can't see it? He's probably receiving treatment for it on a daily basis. And as long as it's not terribly affecting his ability to get outs, they probably think he can get through it. Two bad outings isn't indicative of not being able to get guys out, either.

Rhodes working on is 50th IP.

His totals previous years

2003 - 54
2004 - 38.2
2005 -43.1
2006 - 45.2
2007 - injured
2008 - 35.1
2009 - 53.1

He's been used in 2010 in a way that he hasn't been used since 2002. He's been more of a loogy for a lot of his career. He's been pretty effective careerwise and great so far in 2010, but I have to wonder about how he'll do from here on.

I think Russ Springer is still on the 40 man. He could be put on the 60 day DL.
