When you are trying to pull everything....the pitch on the black looks 3 feet outside.

Stay back and put your bat that high outside pitch....its 10 rows deep to right. But those aren't as fun, apparently.

I did not know that Chapman had pitched 3 days in a row.

This on Nick. Volquez was not going to throw over 100 pitches. He needed to have his head in the game against a Triple A team.

I understand they have a part in it...but it was still 3-0 with 6 outs to go.

And I dont live in an igloo

Or own a dog sled
And I don't know
Jimmy, Jally or Suzie from Canada
Although I'm sure they're really really nice
I have a Prime Minister not a President
I speak English and French not American
And I pronounce it about not "a-boot"
I can proudly sew my country's flag on my backpack I believe in peackeeping not policing
Diversity not assimilation
And that the beaver is a truley proud and noble animal
A toque is a hat a chesterfield is a couch
And it is prnouced "zed" not "zee" "zed"!

I think Nick Masset is either on or off and when he's off, you can tell -- he doesn't throw strikes. Tonight he didn't and the result was 4 runs. The Stubbs bunt. We originally thought that was pitiful, but who else could have scored to tie the game? And the thrill of Joey's walkoff. Precious.

His biggest problem right now is that I think he also expects too much of himself. It's been as much mental as physical. I still think he has the tools to be a productive outfielder. Just has to get his confidence back. Tonight helps.

I've seen the numbers from Volquez but how was he? was this just a Pirates performance or was he really good? I didn't get to the game until pretty late.

A few things of note on the replay.....

about 10 people were chanting MVP MVP throughout his entire at bat.

As soon as he hit it....the screen displayed "Walk-Off 2-run HOME RUN.....Scott Rolen 20th home run this season"

Pretty funny.

Enough said and thank you for the Canadian flag. Joey Votto has offically moved to number 2 on my list of favorite Canadiens behind Bret Hart. Votto can move up but it will take quite a bit.

I thought the same thing, but surely they can win one more. How about tomorrow? Sounds good to me.

Precious.

7 games up with 20 games to go. Order your playoff tickets season holders and if you have any extra, give me a call.

Oh yeah...of course...I was being A retentive. :p:
I mean.....they are going to win another one of course.....and Sunday would be fine along with a Bengal win.
Then 4 vs AZ......but what I want most of all...is Bruce back healthy and ready.

I did not know Nick and Chapman were on their 3rd game in a row when I was having my loose screw moment...I had not watched the game at all.
I see the updates during the Alabama game...that they are up 3-0 into the top of the 8th. I figured it was safe to watch and then it all went sideways.
I lost it and lost confidence they could come back beacuse they looked dead and tired.

Not that Raisor ever needs validation, but yeah Volquez was definitely sharp. He was getting ahead of hitters and putting them away. The balls in play were mostly weak, harmless grounders. It was definitely a great performance.

Thanks I took the OSU game and drank myself into a nap. Woke up and it looked all good. 3-0.

First he breaks Bruce's ribs, now he gives Votto pneumonia.

Tomorrow he'll have Rolen in the camel clutch.

Grande is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better in the booth than anyone else that has sat in that chair this year. I guess every night of him gets tiresome, but his enthusiasm matches the mood of the game. Welcome back, George Grande.

Now, about the cans of corn to the outfield "its gonna stay in the park" oh how we missed you Georgie.

Justin Thomas was probably asking for Vottos autograph after he hit that homer.

:p:

"Grandpa Justin, what was the highlight of your baseball career?"
"I once gave up a walk off home run to Joey Votto."
"You faced Joey Votto? Wow! Was he as big and strong as they say he was?"
"Bigger... Stronger."

I just got back from the game. I had great seats (row B in section 143), and the game couldn't have been any better. There's an energy at GABP that has never been there before, and I highly encourage anyone to attend a game there this season if at all possible because you never know the next time it will come around. The optimism and confidence exuding from that stadium haven't been anywhere near here in ages.

It probably took everything he had just to reisist the urge to meet Joey at home plate and ask him to punch him in the face - just so he could thank him.

A pitch that was high and outside. Joey just puts the bat on it to the opposite field. And it's 10 rows deep. What an amazing concept.

Seeing that now (first heard it on the radio last night), that was what was so stunning. Awful pitch, didn't look like a great swing, yet it was a no doubter. Amazing.

The place is electric. I haven't felt this type of energy since moving into the new park. Everyone around me was hugging, high fiving and generally going nuts from the moment Chapman entered the game on. Please, please, please come down to the riverfront if you haven't already. You will not be disappointed, Reds fans!

If I lived in Cincy I'd be at the stadium as much as possible. Nothing better than a pennant chase.

Our daughter is coming in from DC for a wedding next weekend. She purposely schedule her flight in for Wednesday night so we can go to the final business day game. I still have to buy my tickets, but we'll be downtown this afternoon to hear President Clinton speak, so maybe we'll swing by the ballpark and pick them up then. May try to work in another game this week too.
