I've missed George Grande. Great to hear him call the Votto walk-off.

Hes about as nice of a guy you can find but.......after the fourth or fifth "Buccos" I was done.

Not nearly as irritating as the overkill of "Cowboy" when referring to Brantley by T. Brennaman, IMO.

I don't get the hate for George.

So you're saying... the damage was done?

It was good to hear Grande again. As much as I can't stand his bubbly optimism or manlove for Prince Albert, it was good that he had a chance to share in this incredible season.

I think the main problem most Grande haters had with him was his extreme optimism (I call it Opie'ism) during a decade that saw the Reds lose year after year after year.

Had the Reds been truly competitive during Grande's reign as play by play man, I think people would have been more forgiving of him.

Personally, I thought he was one of the best TV play by play guys around. In fact, whenever I talked to fans of other teams, they almost always brought up how much they liked listening to Grande when they had to.

I am glad that he at least gets to be a part of this winning a season.

When I was a little kid I had a baseball card of Kevin Mitchell. On the card George Grande was interviewing him.

I always thought it was strange though, on the back of the card instead of stats it just said "Kevin Mitchell...you know his story".
