They're not booing the pitcher, they're Bruucing the defense.

Fans boo because it's hard to chant instructions to the manager.

If Jay Bruce had a nickname like O-Cab or CarGo it would be Jay Bruce.

The turning point of the season was that moment when they kept going.

Who should close instead of Cordero? Probably the one you have warming up because Cordero's in trouble.

He found it easier to miss plates than bats.

Say what you want, but the Willie Bloomquist Era has been almost as good as the Jim Edmonds Era.

Dusty Baker will have a whole page in the big book of managers' quotes about fans.

Apparently Derek Jeter is better at acting than the actresses he dates.

Next year the season will start in March and the Pirates will be out of it by April.

These are some of the best yet! Very, very good. I don't know if you write for a living but these random thoughts are better than what most professional sports writers have in their columns.

I didn't know this reference until I saw an article in today's NY Times. I think I'll start a thread on this alone. Great quip though.

Maybe now when the Reds get off to a good start, everyone can stop camparing them to a 1999 team that didn't make the postseason.

That team was awfully fun to watch though. It did win 96 games which gets in most seasons. I would like any team to be similar to that one.

But yeah, now at least it will ease the pain of having to fallback on the years where moral victories ruled the day.
