Yes, One! A little backtracking is in order here. A
fellow RedsZoner, Gonelong, had come up with the idea, years back, to see how closely RedsZone members could forecast the upcoming season. Now everyone can tell you what happened in the past and most folks can tell you what is happening in the present. But it takes a special kind of knowledge to divine what is going to happen down the road. Everyone was allowed to take part. Then several years ago a fissure erupted that split RedsZone in two - ORG and SunDeck. And a friendly rivalry was born. RedsZoners, being a competitive bunch, decided to see which forum had keener insight into the future. SunDeckers, being an expansion forum, picked and patched the best that they could. But, to be honest, for the first two years all they received for their efforts was a baseball cleat to the backside. ORG won and won rather easily. SunDeckers, tired of mollycoddling along, rose up and shouted with one voice, "SunDeck this!". They went out and predicted their hardest. The results of those predictions were placed in the archives and the season began. Bleakly at first, but soon in Game Thread after Game Thread a rallying cry was heard. Pretty soon it was 'SunDeck this!' and 'Sundeck that!'. In early May, out of all those cries, a vortex of energy spun out of control, shaking up the lineup and lifting the team out of its Lost Decade and into first place. And any time the team faltered a new wave of 'SunDeck this' cries were certain to be heard, placing the team back on track. And now SunDeck stands on the threshhold. It is the best of times, it is the best of teams. The next Cincinnati Reds' victory will turn whine into wine. One more win and the Crystal of Clairvoyance will very soon have a new home. The Sundeck! Tonight, SunDeckers, is that night. Let's muster up a new level of angst and anxiety, bicker proudly, and SunDeck this thing to its rightful conclusion.
