I want to see a celebration in the locker room with champagne.

It will be pretty lame if the Reds clinch on an off day.

Definitely, but damn does it feel weird having to root them.

Same. Best case is the Cards win on Monday and the Reds win on Tuesday to take it. Would hate to clinch it with a off day or loss.

Central Division Crown, here we come!!!!! :D

Exact same matchup as 5 days ago.

Lohse vs. Charlie Morton (Pitt)

Morton won that game.

Count me in for hoping the Cards win tomorrow. Though I'm not happy about the whole losing road trip thing...it will be MUCH MUCH sweeter when the Reds clinch at home.

Pirates are woeful on the road. I think the Cards will win easily tomorrow.

Celebrations would be cool. But I still just want to clinch.

Yeah, that. But I want the boys to do it on tuesday.

Want to, and probably should, but can't do it.

I just take one glance at that SOB leading the charge in the Cards dugout, and.......:thumbdown

Clinching it Monday lets Dusty rest guys for the rest of the week. That's worth far more than a celebration at home.

My brother who lives out-of-state, makes Opening Day every year and at least 2 other games. He picked the 9/28 game a month ago as the clincher for him to come in town. Hope he gets his wish. (Still can't wish StL any luck though).:beerme:

How about a scenario that makes everyone happy....Pittsburgh is supposed to get drenched with a steady rain all tomorrow evening. Forecasts show that the game is likely to be rained out. Under that scenario, the Reds can clinch at home Tuesday and we don't have to root for the Cardinals tomorrow.

They're in St Louis.

How 'bout this. Don't root for St. Louis. Root against Pittsburgh. Sound good?

Sign me up. I'd rather not clinch with a St. Louis loss, and I definitely would rather not clinch on an off day.

Let's do it with a win. Good news is, Pittsburgh is worse than horrible on the road.

Not me. I want this to end today, not tomorrow.

Backing in means nothing. Let the first celebration commence after winning the NLDS.

let's hope the Cards lose tomorrow and get a big crowd to GABP to celebrate on Tuesday night.. Then root for 5-1 the rest of the way to get some home field in the first round

Hey, if the Pirates win, we can see the look on the Cardinals faces knowing they are elimnated :)

I've waited so long for this division title, it doesn't matter how it happens to me, I'd love for it to happen in Cincy but if the Pirates win tommorow I won't be dissapointed, because we will be NL Central Champions!!!

I just wanna clinch. If it happens today, so be it. Also, if they don't have the chance for a group celebration, that's means no one can get hurt during all the high-jinks. :)

Put me in the "I (always) hope St. Looie loses" camp. Let the fans whoop and holler on Tuesday evening as the 2010 NL Central Divsion Champs take the field.

Lohse is a member of the Reds fan club. All Reds should report to GABP for gametime.

I think i've realized i'm a pessimistic person today, because I almost expect the Cardinals to lose today against Pittsburgh since I don't want them to, and there wasn't one time when the race was tight that I thought they would get beat by Pittsburgh, lol. Its a win-win though, I mean a loss does clinch the division. I'd just prefer to see the Reds get a shot at winning it on the field!

Ok, so about about a 157 inning scoreless tie that doesn't end until after tomorrow's Red's game?

I don't get it. I always want the Cards to lose when we are in a division race. I just want us to secure the title and it does not matter how or when, but the sooner the better. I hope the Pirates put up 25 runs and shut out the Cards. Reds make the playoffs and get on a roll to the WS.

How we get in is of no consequence. Get to the playoffs and do some damage. Its been a very long time. No time to be picky about how you clinch.

I love watching my team celebrate a division championship. It's awesome and super fun and a great memory.

However, I am not going to want to see it at the expense of what is best for the Reds competitively for the playoffs. The earlier they clinch, the sooner they can rest up and plan for the playoffs.

I will be at the Reds game tomorrow night no matter what.

I was also at the Division Clinching game in 1990. The game was rained out but during the delay, the Dodgers lost!
I was in the restroom and someone came in screaming, "The Dodgers Lost!"

Definitely cheering for the Cards tonight. Won't be too bummed if they manage to lose, though.

Just turned a DP to get out of a bases loaded jam and keep it tied in the seventh.

Does anybody know when was the last time the Reds had a 6 game loosing streak? Or when was the last time the Cards had a six game winning streak? I'm just wondering...

The Reds lost 5 in a row in early September and if not for the 6 - 1 win over the Cardinals in between, it would have been a 7 game streak.

The Cardinals won 8 in a row around the allstar break this year.

The Reds are likely a bit better than early Sept and the Cardinals have been a lot worse since mid August.

So if the astros win tonight and the cardinals-pirates game is undecided, will the players and some fans stick
around for the outcome? Will they broadcast that game on the scoreboard until there's an outcome?
