Outside of the fact that the Rockies most likely won't be playing in the postseason check out these home/away splits. Ridiculous!

Gonzalez is slightly ahead of Votto in a few categories, but the splits make it so obvious the impact playing at Coors field has had on his stats.

Carlos Gonzalez

AB: 286
AVG: 388
OBP: 434
R: 69
HR; 25
RBI: 73

AB: 283
AVG: 299
R: 41
HR: 8
RBI: 41

Joey Votto

AB: 253
AVG: 300
OBP: 397
HR: 18
RBI: 54
R: 40

AB: 281
AVG: 349
OBP: 452
HR: 19
RBI: 57
R: 64

I was just arguing with one of my friends about it because he thought Carlos Gonzalez deserved the MVP, making the argument that GABP is a hitters park as much as Coors Field. I think its obvious Votto gets the nod over Pujols beating him inside his own division. I just found those split stats shocking, and a HEAVY argument in Votto's corner, and thought i'd share.

One of these things is not like the other. Which one is it do you know??

Road OPS among NL MVP candidates

Adrian González .967
Albert Pujols .990
Joey Votto 1.093
Carlos González .786

I think Joey Votto is pretty much a lock for MVP with the numbers and a 1st place finish. The only other guy I think you can make a legit case for is Adrian González especially if SD wins the division because he absolutely carried that offense before Tejada and Ludwick came along.

Carlos González reeks of Coors field inflation and probably not even the MVP of his own team (Tulo) much less the league. Throw in the alleged humidor fiasco and I don't put much stock in him at all.
