Having grown up a Reds fan and still carrying that love at age 43, sharing this season with my 14-year old daughter - Rebekah - has made it even more special. She has the same passion I had at that age - and still have -and to see her dancing around the living room last night was one of those father-daughter moments I'll remember forever.

We come up at least once a year, but this year when we saw the last two games of the last series with the Cubs, it was the first time she had ever been in GABP for a game/series that mattered. First pennant race of her life. Her intensity those two days was incredible - checking the Cardinals score, getting upset when we made mistakes. She was a sight to behold.

Now she understands. Baseball has always been a game passed between generations. It was a beautiful thing to watch develop as the year went on.

Let's hope last night isn't her last celebration this year.

Thanks for a great post! That's what it is all about. Passing along the tradition to the next generation.
