View Full Version : Hoping the RedLegs are up 2-0...

I'd love to see good starts out of Arroyo/Volquez and see the Reds go up 2-0....

That way, I can hope for a Johnny Cueto implosion. The Reds will then come back and take Game 3 or 4 and win the Series. I am rooting for the Reds with the exception of Cueto. If the Series is tied or Philly advantage, that goes out the window and I hope Cueto takes the Reds closer to the NLCS.

Beat the Phillies, play to the end of October.

What do you have against Herr Cueto?

MckBearcat48 is a Cardinals fan who won't let go of the past. Keep bringing up Cueto and we can go round and around again about who kicked whom and blah blah blah. God it gets old. Hasn't this horse been beaten enough?

If the Reds win the first two games (vs Halladay + Oswalt) I'll fart in my hat and then eat it.

That sounds about right.

I'm just praying for a 1-1 start to this thing. At least have the chance to win the series at home. If we come back to Cincinnati down 2-0 the city will not be in it and we'll lose the series at GABP.

I don't like Cueto. The rest of the team can do well, and I hope they do.

So you wouldn't like the "kickin it with cueto" shirt I saw a guy wearing at the park awhile back?

OK, now that's funny no matter who you are...

If Cueto wins, I will make this my signature line:

"Johnny Cueto made me his -----"

That will stay up till Opening Day 2011.

If they beat the Phils I'm so getting that shirt. Probably get it if they lose too.

The really sad thing about trolls, if you have the pleasure to meet one, they are so pathetic, it is sad! Can you imagine having such low self esteem, you fill the need to gloat on another team's site, so you can feel better about yourself?

Problem solved, just block them!!!:p:

How are the Reds going to beat Halladay and Hamels? Halladay Oswalt and Hamels are ranked 3 5 and 12 respectively in ERA. Cueto and Arroyo are listed as 25 and 32. Kyle Kendrick is on the list. Volquez is not. Last time I checked you can't win if you allow runs

You obviously know nothing about Volquez's story this year.

Coming back earlier than expected from TJ. Had more power in his pitches just had no control. Sent down to Single-A to work on his mechanics. Since then he has been fantastic. Only getting better too.

Volquez in his last 4 starts:

27.2 innings
1.97 ERA
31 Ks
8 BB
~0.91 WHIP

Cole Hamels in September and October:

4-1
1.82 ERA
34.2 IP
35 K

And that includes his last 2 meaningless starts.

Hey guys, WF28 isn't a troll. She's harmless. Why was she banned?

One thing that hasn't been mentioned is relief pitching. The Phillies don't have a dominant left hander in the back end of their bullpen to neutralize Bruce and Votto. The Reds have Chapman. Utley, Howard, Ibanez, Rollins, etc have never seen Chapman. He is going to be a weapon.

The Phillies feast on fastball pitchers.

And if Romero can find the plate, he'll be dominant.

#1...I'm not going anywhere.
#2...You like to throw the word troll around.

Generally, this isn't a "trash talking" message board. Posts of that nature, especially by new users will get that type of reaction from moderators here.

We had a pretty bad troll outbreak after the Phillips-Molina "fight" back in August, so, we are probably going to tend to react towards the "looks like a troll" line.

So, for Phillies guests here, discuss the game, discuss the players objectively; don't start throwing epithets around. In the end, keep in mind the motto of this site "For Reds fans, by Reds fans". You are guests here, act accordingly.

We will do our best to limit the Reds fans here from baiting you all into those types of discussions.

Ochre...

Very well stated. I am a Cardinal fan who is rooting for the Reds (minus one player). It's good to see people getting behind their guy though. It was a fun year between STL/CIN.
