They played Halliday's press conference and now Charlie Manuel's. The Reds official twitter said Volquez is going to take the stand at 1:45, so you might want to turn it on.

You'd swear he was speaking another language or something.

Kinda upset I missed Volquez, hopefully reds.com posts it later.

Mitch Williams said we're starting Volquez tomorrow because we feel like we don't have any pitchers to beat Halliday so we're hoping Arroyo and Cueto can be Oswalt and Hamels.

Thanks.

Basically that Mitch was entitled to his opinion but he wanted to thank him for giving him the biggest thrill of his childhood (the Joe Carter walkoff).

Pretty much sums up the Reds situation.

Now lets see if we can give them all a nice...um... "burger" to munch on. ;)

Who is Mitch Williams to talk about anything? Only reason anyone remembers him is that epic chokejob he pulled against Carter and The Jays. He was the losing pitcher in 2 of the 4 games that The Phillies lost in that series. He should kindly shut his trap.

I love the fact that NOBODY is giving the Reds a chance in this series. I think it's the best thing for them.

Just play ball, boys....just play ball.

These are the same "experts" that didn't give them a chance this season, either.

Whenever I listen to Mitch Williams or Jeff Brantley I can hardly tell the difference.

I believe they're both full of spit.

I've thought this as well.

I didn't hear the Votto comment... but Williams has been a lot less anti-Reds than some (Looking at you, Amsinger) the last few days.

Is Amsinger the clown that just slid the Phillies through to the next round yesterday? If so, that guy is a hack. Offered no explanation or reason, just put them through because they are the Phillies.

Yeah. That would be him. Greg Amsinger. You know, I get that the Reds are major underdogs here. And to point that out, explain why, and pick the Phills, is fine. But there comes a point when it's downright disrespectful to the Reds organization and their fans.

100% agreed. It was insulting. I don't have a problem with it either if it's backed up with SOMETHING.

That all being said, the MLB Network lost a couple points with me yesterday. I dind't even watch it at all last night after that garbage, and it's usually on every minute of the day while I'm home.

Did anybody see the opening of path to the pennant yesterday? Amsinger was like "if you don't know why the Reds are major underdogs let me remind you of the pitching matchups in games 1-3.." and he was laughing when he said it too.
