I'll go first

Counting on Scott Rolen to be a solid defender/ clubhouse leader/ not a hole in the lineup for 100-120 games at 3B? Good idea.

Counting on Rolen to be your cleanup hitter for 140 games? Bad idea.

Bringing back guys like Gomes, Hernandez, or Cabrera to be paid like and treated as bench players a la Edmonds and Cairo? Good idea.

Bringing them back on a team with a manager who will treat them as everyday players in their prime until you pry the lineup card from his cold dead fingers? Bad idea.

Starting Chapman out in Louisville as a starter next year until he has a 3rd pitch? Good idea

Not shopping Alonso in a deal with others to try and fill a hole on our team? Bad idea

Bringing back Laynce Nix? Good idea

Phillips batting leadoff next season? Bad idea

Management making some changes and adding additional pieces to an already talented Reds team, in order to increase our chances next year - good idea.

Management staying put and making no significant roster changes, because they have already watched this Reds team when a division title - bad idea.

Having Chapman bounce back and forth between bullpen/starter role......Bad idea

Having Bruce learn how to bunt....Good Idea
Having Brandon Phillips in the 4 spot ever again....Bad Idea
