When Jocketty was named Reds general manager in April 2008, his first goal was obvious: "We had to teach everybody from the front office to the players that we can turn this around and be successful," Jocketty told Sporting News.

I say we don't debate how much Jocketty was responsible for the success of this team, but just enjoy the fact that he is the GM of our beloved franchise. Congrats, Walt.

Well deserved. Nearly every move he made turned out for the better. The Reds finally have a GM who the fans can trust to make consistently good decisons.

Well deserved and I'm glad it was recognized.

Also, kudos to Bobby C. for taking advantage of an opportunity to steal a quality GM when the Cards fell asleep at the switch.

This is as sweet as winning the division over the Cardinals.

With Walt calling the shots, this team has the possiblity of making a run like Atlanta did in the 90s with the talent in the system.

I think a key point is that he was chosen by a panel of 24 of his peers.

Yeah, but let's not go overboard here. Maybe someday he'll get the same accolades in a RedsZone poll.

A man has to have a dream.
