Cardinals Make Brendan Ryan Available
By Tim Dierkes [December 2 at 9:02am CST]

The Cardinals feel that Ryan Theriot is an upgrade at shortstop over incumbent Brendan Ryan. Ryan is now expendable, according to Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch: "The Cardinals have let other teams know Ryan is available, and they'll look to trade him during next week's winter meetings in Florida, if not sooner."

BWaaaaaaaaahahahahhahahaha! Thanks for letting everyone know Cards! Everybody get in line Bendan Ryan is available in a few days, if not sooner!

This is what you get for crossing Chris Carpenter. Never ever take the wrong glove out to the field with you or position yourself in the wrong place and let a ball get by you. Never.

How will Chris Carpenter explain that to his son?

Sadly, I think you are probably right on this one.

I don't know that Carpenter is the issue. Going back to Ryan's college days, he was kicked off the team multiple times. For his entire career, he has been accused of lacking focus and being his stubborn. I know he has received discipline from the Cardinals multiple times, so it sounds like they're finally fed up with him.

Apparently he has "personality" conflicts with some players and coaches, including LaRussa. We all know what happens when you get on LaRussa's bad side.

An angel gets its wings?

I think so, because they always fly away.

I was optimistic for the Cards future because of guys like Rasmus and Ryan.

Oh well...

You were optomistic because of Ryan?

Rasmus isn't going anywhere.

He and Tony have kissed and made up?

I doubt it. lol It doesn't matter though. Rasmus is Luhnow's boy.

Rasmus and Ryan were a sign that the Cards farm was not empty, and that they didn't need to expend resources to fill in holes. That was the reason for optimism.

Well, Garcia and our young relievers give me more optimism than Brendan Ryan does. Don't get me wrong... I love his glove, but he can't hit at all.
