If you had a chance to meet and talk with any former Reds player who played for them prior to 1965, who would it be?
My choice....Ewell Blackwell

The big Klu for me. Randomly went to the game a number of years back when his number was retired. Read about him and was impressed. Interesting man.

I would have wanted to know everything I could about the 1919 World Series from his perspective.
Also, one of my favorite historical Baseball figures is John McGraw. He played for McGraw on two different occassions. I would have loved to learn about McGraw from him...even though I know from books I have read about Roush..that he did not like McGraw.

George or Harry Wright from the 1869 Reds. Those guys were there at the beginning of professional baseball and could tell you how it all went down.

FYI, I don't begin to know where to find them, but I remember as a kid in the early 60's there were tapes of interviews done with Roush while he was still alive and quite active. really detailed stuff about the Series. I just remember being in awe, as both Grandpa's considered him to be just about the best to ever put on a Reds uniform. (One Grandpa had a ball he autographed along with Eppa Rixey sometime in the 20's but a little bastard cousin got the ball when Gramps died).
