Would you fork over 2-3m to sign Renteria for a year? Or stick with Janish?

I'd probably say no to Renteria. He hasn't been good with the glove for the last half decade, and while his bat would present an upgrade over Janish, he's no world beater offensively. If he had better on base skills, I'd definitely look into it, but that's not the case. I wouldn't mind if the Reds got him at that price, but I wouldn't be too excited about it either.

I'd rather get Orlando Hudson and finally shift BP to SS if O-Dog couldn't do it.

Renteria's last 4 seasons have been this amount of games played...

2007 124
2008 138
2009 124
2010 72

So I feel that it would be money wasted because that money could go towards adding another player in their Prime... to help the Reds.

IMO: I think Edgar Renteria is quite older than his documented age...

I wouldn't really be interested in Renteria, but I also don't want Janish to be the starting SS. If those are the 2 options, i'd go with Renteria, but I think there would be better ways to fill that position. Renteria would worry me because he's had a lack of durability, especially last season.
