I really love the OBM-stlye threads that collect various links in the spring, and thought maybe one for the next 12 days until pitcher/catchers report might be in order.

Please remember, per forum rules and general internet guidance nowdays, links only. Summarize if you can and have time.

Mark Sheldon gets us started with one on Dontrelle Willis, who has apparently been working with Bryan Price for a few weeks in Arizona:

http://cincinnati.reds.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20110202&content_id=16555458&vkey=news_cin&c_id=cin

(I still think Willis can help this team out of the pen and can remake himself into a reliever)

and another from Sheldon on who is already in Goodyear and staring to work:

I'd love to see Dontrelle come in an take a spot in the pen. He's got big time pressure experience, he's a vet who can not only help on the mound, but he is also someone whose brain the young'uns cab pick. He also seems like a character to add to a clubhouse full of them.

Chapman, Willis and bray from the left side of the pen this year. Willis, Bray and Joseph/Valiquette next year when Aroldis joins the rotation. If he works out, it would be nice to sign him to a 2 or three year very reasonable deal.

This guy will be in camp with the A's when pitchers & catchers report. I wish him the best of luck and will be rooting for him to do well.

Glad to see Maloney arriving early. As a guy who depends on location, he needs a little more time to be effective. I think many RZ'ers have written him off, but I still see him as a back of the rotation starter, even if he is way down in the depth chart for this Reds team.

Potentially a lot of recent major league exp headed to l'ville...maloney, leake, herrera, lecure, fisher, alonso, francisco, valakia. That's a lot of quality depth to draw from when needed.

Sheldon all over it, bless him. Travis Wood ready for spring (and happily still spent the off-season working out with Cliff Lee):

Really fun read from Erardi.

What is the biggest, or maybe most unusual, thing you've had to pack over the years? A bass boat for Deion Sanders.

What's the most unusual thing this year? I'd say four (car) tires for Mike Leake. They look like they might be for an older (vintage-type) car. He lives in Arizona, and he found these tires here, and wanted us to bring them to him. No problem.

The note on Josh Hamilton was great too.

That line-up actually makes sense and is what I expect against lefties, but it would make more sense to include the line-up vs. righties if you are going to list only line-up because that will be used much more often since there are more righty starters than lefty starters.

From Mark Sheldon - early arrivals in camp:

Chris Valaika told me he's been here since Jan. 1. Matt Maloney came out Feb. 1

Chris Heisey was also early.

"Too much snow in Pennsylvania," Heisey said.

Among the other guys I saw today were Dontrelle Willis, Mike Leake, Bill Bray, Logan Ondrusek, Daniel Ray Herrera, Yonder Alonso, Ryan Hanigan, Jared Burton, Justin Lehr and Fred Lewis.

From Mark Sheldon - Stronger Leake hits camp ready to go

Teammate Yonder Alonso took notice on Monday when he saw Leake head to his locker, one of the Reds' many early arrivals to Spring Training ahead of Wednesday's report date for pitchers and catchers.

"Leake's gotten bigger," Alonso said.

Its quite possible. Some people don't stop growing entirely until around his age.
