I would think he just wants to retire there. I think we got (see Jay Bruce and Drew Stubbs after he signed with us) what we needed from him.

Well this sure sucks, I was wanting to see him here helping Bruce and Stubbs.

I would hope he contacted our front office,as a courtesy, although Jocketty seemed to want him in an instructional role. Who cares?...

good deal for the Cards....better than spending $8 million for a washed up DH

But they did pay 8 million for a guy who hasn't played in the outfield in five years, so..

I would have liked him here for a LH bat off the bench, tutor for Bruce, fill-in at 1B and OF occasionally. I guess some of us figured if he played again, it would be here. Bummer, especially since he went to the Cards.

We really don't have a place for him or need him. But it just seems like the Cardinals are trying to rub us.

I'm just glad Edmonds got rid of everyone's man crush Dickerson...

He went from Red Killer to Still a Red Killer (time with the Reds) to being a Cardinal Killer now. Glad they got him. Loved that attempted slide back into second where he came up like 5 feet short the night of the brawl.

This is a mixed bag for me. I hated Edmonds as a Red, but when he puts on a Cards uni, he always manages to do something against us...even as ancient and worthless as he is...

He seems like he would be better suited for the American League at this point.

I think this signing is just so he can retire a Card at the end of Spring Training

I was hoping that Edmonds would decide to retire and join the Reds organization as a hitting instructor. He clearly had a positive effect on Jay Bruce in a short period of time, imagine what he could do for Stubbs or even Paul Janish.

Yep, I can see him hobbling to the plate and going all Kirk Gibson on us at some point.

I've always hated this guy and I had to temper that hatred after the Reds added him last year. I'm glad I can go back to hating him with extreme prejudice again.

Don't worry, some of us got it.
