Jay Bruce hits the first bomb for the Reds. Votto and Gomes follow suit. Leather is flashed all around. Volquez labors through five but the bullpen is perfect. It all adds up to a 7-4 victory Opening Day celebration.

This and I predict that Cordero gives me my first heart attack of the 2011 season but still nails down save #1.

First year in a while I'll be watching the game due to being laid off, but a day of drinking beer and watching Reds OD ball is a fair trade :)

I predict a 4-3 win with Chapman, Masset and Cordero nailing down the 7th, 8th and 9th

Opening day is the only time I wish we still had Adam Dunn. Guy was always a opening day MVP.

I think it's too cold for that much offense. The ball doesn't carry and the hitting the ball stings. I think it'll be lower scoring than that.

Being laid off has never sounded so great. Hope that gets better for you, but enjoy the game and time off!!!

Congratulations to the REDS' Offense, and to those who really stepped up, specifically, Votto, Stubbs and Hernandez.

Votto homered - check.
Reds hit three bombs - check.
Volquez labored (but went six) - check.
Bullpen was pretty good - check.
Reds scored seven runs - check.
Reds win - check.

Not perfect, but not bad.
