Saito gives up 2 HR's to Atlanta in the 8th, and the Brewers lose 2-1, rough start to the season! I guess if you have to have a day off, you might as well pick up 1/2 a game. 3.5 :D

For as much love Milwaukee has gotten as a sleeper/contender by the pundits, the team's noted weaknesses - bullpen and defense - have reared their ugly heads in the first handful of games of the season.

If the 3b makes the tag on Philliips and the bullpen doesn't implode, the Brewers easily win game 1. Reds probably would have won games 2 and 3, but the bullpen did nothing to keep the Brewers in game 3. Now they blow it again in game 4. I don't think the Brewers are that bad, but they certainly have issues.

They're already looking like the bust of the year. They really don't have incredibly much on offense; If Votto+Bruce= Fielder+Braun, Phillips= Weeks, and Rolen= McGehee, that leaves 4 positions where the Reds' bats are expected to at least slightly edge the Brewers. While the Reds have only Gomes to provide sub-Gold Glove defense, Braun is equally bad, and the rest of the Brewers are hapless. That rotation is already reliant on Marcum to recovering his form and Grienke to be vastly improved from last year when he returns from injury. Masset, Chapman, and maybe even Cordero will likely individually eclipse every single Brewers reliever.

Oh, and they're in a 3.5 game hole.

Sweet!

With last year's troubles in their bullpen, it's nice to see it starting where it left off.

Evan Meek of the Pirates is getting hit pretty hard tonight in the 8th so far he has allowed 2 singles and a walk and 1 ER without recording an out.

Wow I'm pretty sure Meek was an all star last year, he has been as bad as it gets so far this year.

2.5 games up on the Cards and 3.5 on the Brewers.

Our chance the next 3 to bury the Astros down a bit deeper, then in another week we have the Pirates to take care of. No sense letting the Pirates hang around and think they are going to do anything crazy this year.

Lol. I'm glad everyone is excited about the Reds this year, but I can't believe we're already scoreboard watching in the first week of the season.

At this rate, we'll win the division by 25 games!

What else do we have to do, we only played like 2 games in the first 19 days.

Also, at this rate we would win the division by a lot more than 25 games, but its okay its early in the season so you have time to work on the math lol.

I dunno, look at the standings. The Pirates are only losing one game a week.....
